25th anniversary of the Erasmus programme

2012 marks the 25th anniversary of the Erasmus programme, a year that will be celebrated by the Erasmus Student Network. Many important events are planned to take place on the European-wide level and on the national level of many European countries within the Network.

 Prague

 ESN section: ESC ICT Prague

What? 

• International Day in cooperation with ISC CTU
• Photography Contest on topic:
  • for Czech students: Europe without borders
  • for Erasmus students: How I see ICT and Czech Republic
• We will also participate in Prague Marathon with our Erasmus students during the celebration week of the anniversary.

What?

• International Day: Erasmus students will introduce their culture to local students in the area of a University campus.

 ESN section: ESN VŠE Praha - Buddy System

What? 

• Opportunities to study abroad on VSE: this event will be held in a cooperation with the International Studies Centre. There will be also a  photo contest during the day.
• Soccer Day: (8th May) will be held in a cooperation with OPU (Organization for refugees). 4-6 football teams will play friendly matches in the sport area of Jarov. There will be also a complementary programme going on like barbecue, tasting of african food, frisbee tournament etc. This event is also a part of SocialErasmus week.

 Brno

 ESN section: ISC MU Brno, ISC Mendelu and ISC VUT (in cooperation with their respective Offices for International Studies)

What?

• ERASMUS DAYS 2012 in BRNO
  • Exhibition “Around the Erasmus world” (MU: 4th-15th April, VUT-16th-29th April, Mendelu: 30th April-10th May); Let’s see stories from former Erasmus students, history of Erasmus, interesting facts about ESN, exchange student’s life in pictures and much more in exhibition to significant anniversary.
  • “Run up to Spilberk Hill - What you have to undergo to study abroad?” (9th May 1 p.m., Spilberk park); the purpose of this action game is to show to high school students the „hard path“ which needs to be conquered from applying for Erasmus program to settling in new home. In this game will be checkpoints, where students have to fulfill tasks simulating steps that need to be taken throughout Erasmus application procedure. Of course in a funny way! This event is also a part of SocialErasmus project and also celebrates the SocialErasmus week.
  • Erasmus and Kids Got Talent (9th May 5 p.m., Culture Centrum Stadium) ; the „big“ show, where Erasmus students can reveal their artistic or musical talent, perform a theatre piece, dance piece or sing and so on. In this competition will also participate small children from elementary school Bakalka in Brno. This event is also a part of SocialErasmus project and also celebrates the SocialErasmus week.
  • Erasmus Birthday Night (9th May 9.00 p.m., Stadec: Multicultural Centre) - Let’s go party! You can expect great czech band Apatheia, excellent DJ Schaff and Erasmus DJs from Turkey and Belgium, a show which will last till early morning hours. We will start with Fashion Show of national styles of clothing. Very special surprise and competitions for prizes are included too! Come to show YOUR style.
  • Info point (9th- 10th May 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., at Česká, city center) - We will present Erasmus, student mobility over Europe, ESN and exchange life in CZ to general public in Brno.
  • European Day (11th May 9-12 p.m., SOŠ a SOU Obchodní,) & European Lessons - International students will tell their Erasmus stories, discuss studies abroad and much more with students at high school. This event is a part of SocialErasmus project and also celebrates the SocialErasmus week.
  • Erasmus Tree - The opportunity for international students to plant Erasmus tree! Not only it will make the springtime in Brno more colorful and enjoyable, but also they will bring a witness of their stay to life in one of Brno parks. This event is also a part of SocialErasmus project and also celebrates the SocialErasmus week.

 Ostrava

 ESN section: ESC VŠB-TUO

What?

• Marathon: 25km long relay-race with participation of international teams, across our university campus and near surroundings, with a lot of fun.
• Record in jumping on trampoline: attempt to entry into the Guiness Book of Records in jumping on trampoline, in our university campus.
• Promo campaign during all these events: photo contest, promotion of Erasmus and ESC/ESN, cooperation with university and department of physical education and sport, support on television, radio and other media, perhaps in cooperation with ISC OU.
• National Platform ESN CZ: everything in the spirit of the 25th Anniversary celebration.

• Ostravian Games without Frontiers
  • sports tournament, teams of Czech and Erasmus students compete in funny disciplines

When? 8. 5. 2012

 Liberec

 Esn section: ESN Liberec

What?

• Presentation of foreign universities: Erasmus student will talk about their universities to the local students.
• Human Domino: a group of many people including Erasmus students will create a human domino with mattresses.
• Human "Do not get angry, buddy" - group of people including Erasmus students will play "Do not get angry, buddy", a popular board game but in a “human size”.

When? during May 2012

 Pilsen

 ESN section: ESN Pilsen

What?

• Erasmus 25
  • this event will be held in the afternoon at the university campus (start at 2pm). The other part of the programme starting at 8pm will take place at a club “Buena Vista” where 2 bands will perform.
  • at the campus will be prepared games such as Angry Birds, jumping shoes, frisbee tournament etc.
  • DJ will play during all the event and you will have the possibility to buy something to drink and to eat
  • another part of this afternoon will be a “infomarket” about ESN and other student organizations. Office for International Relations will have there their own stall as well.
  • Erasmus students will come and help us and also to talk with czech students about their experience as erasmus
  • meanwhile some of the Erasmus students will be offered for an auction which benefit will go to the civic volunteer association HAIMA Plzeň (association which provides help to the people suffering leukemia).
